Let’s get started with a few simple steps and learn How To Make String Bracelets with ease.
Choose several strands of string in different colors. Choose as many strings as you want and go for vibrant colors that look attractive. 4 to 6 strands will make a thin bracelet, while 8 to 10 strands will make a thicker bracelet. The more the number of strings, the thicker is your bracelet.
Take one string and measure a length which is slightly longer than the distance from your fingertip to your shoulder and then cut it.
Use the strand that you have cut to measure and cut the remaining strings. Make sure you cut all of them in the same length.
Tie the strings in a knot and place them to a flat surface. You can pin them to your pants or to a pillow. You can also tie it around your toe and be creative but pinning the knot to a stable surface is always a better option as it ensures that the bracelet will stay firmly in one place.
Now spread the strings out before you start the system of knotting in order to create a pattern in the bracelet. Spread in a way so that the colors are in the order in which you want the stripped patterns on the bracelet to be. To make the knotted end of the bracelet less bulky, you can try not to cross the strings over one another too much.
Now start braiding the bracelet by creating 3 separate strings from the strings. This you can do making a few short braids by grouping a few strands together. Then go ahead to braid the shorter braids like you would braid your hair.
Knot the string on the far left around the string which is immediately to its right. Make the half hitch knot by doing this and then move the 1st thread over the front of the 2nd, leaving a loop on the left. Then pull the 2st string around the 2nd and thread it through the loop that you created and pull it up until a knot moves up to the top of the 2nd string.
Knot the string that was on the far left around the remaining strings from left to right. Make two of the same knot on every string before you go ahead.
Keep on knotting all the strings from left to right. You will end up on the right side when you are done and every time you will begin with a new color.
Continue the knotting procedure until the string is long enough to encircle your wrist. To make sure that it fits well, try it around your wrist. If you are making it for someone else then keep in mind the circumference of that person’s wrist. It should be roomy enough to fit at least 2 fingers next to your wrist in order to avoid discomfort.
Now braid the ends of the bracelet for a more attractive look.
To add in some extra flair, you can add small beads or charms onto the strings and then tie them in a knot. Then trim the ends of the bracelet and tie both ends together. Your string bracelet is ready!
